Northwind Logistics ran four separate monitoring tools across their fleet-tracking infrastructure — one for uptime checks, one for server metrics, a separate incident tracker, and a spreadsheet for SLA reporting. Nothing talked to anything else.
The problem
When an incident happened, someone had to manually correlate an uptime alert in tool A with a server metric spike in tool B, then open a ticket in tool C, then remember to update the SLA spreadsheet afterward. Mean time to resolution included all of that manual stitching, not just the actual fix.
